Woodworks Tree Service, LLC was founded in 2013 by ISA certified arborist, Michael Powell. We serve New York’s vibrant Hudson Valley community. 

Woodworks is dedicated to providing a science-based and eco-friendly approach to modern tree care practices. Michael Powell is a lifelong rock climber and outdoor enthusiast. He received his Bachelor of Science in Geography from Appalachian State University. He is also a registered Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Wilderness First Responder (WFR).

Following college, Mike began his career with trees as a wildland firefighter with the National Park Service in California. During this time, his learning and passion blossomed for tree work and environmentally friendly practices.

After working several more years in the tree service industry, Michael decided it was time for him to grow his company.  Driven by his personal philosophy of sustainable and environmentally-friendly practices, Woodworks Tree Service was thus born from a seed, in Michael’s then hometown of Asheville, North Carolina. After several years of growth and learning in Asheville, Michael and his family relocated to Woodstock, New York.  Michael now brings invaluable experience and knowledge to the intricate techniques to the art of tree care.  We are proud to be a part of the talented and bright community of New York’s Hudson Valley. 

Woodworks Tree Service has International Society of Arboriculture Certified staff and is a proud member of the Tree Care Industry Association and ISA’s New York State Chapter. Industry rules and safety regulations are respected and followed.
